Friendly staff, clean room but very soft mattress
Good location, friendly staff, clean room.

I would only recommend it to people who seriously LOVE a very soft mattress. Everything else was good value for money, but the mattress was too soft/uncomfortable to sleep.

These rooms are clean, spacious and have awesome bathrooms. I had everything I needed and more. It was secure and the location was great because everything was in walking distance.

We stayed in a double room which is quite small but suits all your needs. Friendly staff and big living and kitchen area in the basement. You need approximetly 10 minutes by foot to the city.

Pirce is cheap but out of my expectation. good environment, room size is ok but clean, can sleep well, surprise to see the sky tower in my room, very good.
only parking is not enough, but can part in street but need to paid.

Booked a night at the City Lodge Backpackers after reading the generally favourable reviews. Hotel room was really small as expected, but to compensate for that, you do get your own private bathroom. Personally, I do not think that the hostel was strategically located as we still need to drag our heavy luggage (uphill!) after embarking from the nearest bus stop. Can get a better located hotel/hostel for the same price along Queens Road. Would also have appreciated if they had provided extra pillows instead of just one for each guest.

It is not located in main st (Queen st) but it was good to move to anywhere.

comfortable, quiet and near to city centre

we only stayed one night the first time, and we quite like the place. Room was good-sized with required facilities with ensuite. Free instant coffee and tea in the room. Just 10mins walk to queen street/sky tower. Staff was helpful, good kitchen space and may people cook there so the lift has 'food' smell. Better if there's good vemtilation in the kitchen if many people are cooking. Laundry is easy as well. Overall 7/10.

you can take the inner city link bus to the hotel, just 50cents. Alight at pitt street and walk over.

reasonable quality hotel for budget concious traveller. rooms are small but adequate. clean ensuite bathroom in room.
room had basic facilities consisting of a mini fridge and kettle which were sufficient for my requirements. small shop across the road to pick anything you may need up.
friendly staff who were helpful when required. would recommend this for a budget option for single or backpackers.
Nightlife Tip:
hotel is a decent walk to the harbour and viaduct. especially on the way back when it is all uphill.
a couple of streets in the other direction is k road. a good alternative with lots of small and funky cafes and bars.
